We invite you to join us for our annual Grounded Gathering in 2018 at a very special site located in Bundjalung Country, near Tylagum, only 1 hrs drive from Gold Coast and Byron Bay.
Our annual Gathering is split in to two parts; a five day, hands-on, workshop program for a small group of participants ready to invest in their future through project based education, and then as the weekend rolls in, we open up the space to celebrate with some people powered permaculture action party.
Each year Artable gathers 8 of its best workshop artists to gather in Northern NSW for 5 days of creative fun.
You pick your favourite workshop tutor to spend the 5 days with. So there are 8 gatherings of small groups of 10-12 people in different rooms. Each tutor has their own materials list for you to bring with you, but other than that EVERYTHING else is included!
On Friday 26th January, Tyalgum Village joins in the Australia Day celebrations with a wonderful programme. Please put the date in your diary and join with family and friends to make this Australia Day a special day here in our beautiful village.
The day will commence with the traditional Street Parade at 9.30 am. All community organisations, businesses, school groups and individuals are encouraged to participate. Make a float or march, dress up in your best Aussie-themed outfits. Prizes awarded to best decorated floats and children’s bikes. Every child with a decorated bike will receive a paddle pop or a delicious gelato.
Everyone is encouraged to gather at the Tyalgum Hall for the formal part of the day from 10am, which will include an Acknowledgement of Country by the traditional custodians. The Tyalgum Public School captains will make an address and raise the flag as we sing the National Anthem.
Australia Day awards will be presented inside the Hall, to recognise members of our community who have made a significant contribution to Tyalgum Village. Morning tea will be provided followed by a sing-a-long, while children’s activities are held outside.
