Flutterbies Cottage Café is an award winning restaurant and the gateway to a dozen boutique retailers and gourmet food & drink providers. There’s a Gin Bar and a Black Hops beer bar, and the Tyalgum Bakehouse with sweet treats and artisan loaves.

The café buildings also feature the Garden of Light store and the Little Shop Next Door full of gifts and delights. The décor is exquisite, featuring a baby grand piano where performances often take place. Flutterbies also has two air conditioned rooms where you can escape the heat.

In the centre of the café is a large semi-outdoor natural & earthy space for covered dining, with a stage where you’ll often find original acoustic musicians performing. Every Friday night this space becomes Flutterbucks Pizza with live acoustic musicians.

Near the entrance is The Garden Shed Nursery and at the rear is a wonderful shady dining area with giant oak trees in a rustic fairytale setting. Tuscany in Tyalgum art & clothing store is set at the rear of this garden in a heritage listed building.

Markette Lane is home to a dozen boutique retailers. However, it is secreted behind the old bank building and is accessible through Flutterbies cafe’s rear garden – it is not visible or accessible from the road, you have to discover it!

Shaded by huge trees this open paved area is surrounded by old train carriages and wooden huts that have been converted into retail shops.

Somewhere in the Sunshine is full of upcycled furniture; there are Train Carriages decorated lampshades, hats and all sorts of gifts. Enclume Jewellery is home to our local silversmith with jewellery and other special items. The Sacred Grove Bookshop is next to The Fairyshop for children.

Markette Lane is also another venue for the Tyalgum Village Markets where several extra stalls pop up on market days and special events. It’s the perfect place to browse the shops or grab a book, a coffee and just chillax all afternoon.

Earth Heart Beat is a sustainability store featuring a range of organic, ethical and sustainable items – it’s also home to Tyalgum’s chocolatier, Soul Fire Cocoa Genesis.

 Built in 1908 our general store serves great food all day with a beautiful covered outdoor seating area surrounded by a nursery. The store has an excellent range of drinks and handmade cakes and slices available and is full of locally sourced produce, handmade gifts and everything else you might need from a General Store.
